Autonomy tier
An autonomy tier is a level of independence a platform is allowed for a class of action, from recommend only to act alone. Tiers let a team start cautious and raise trust per action. A useful page names the tiers, says who can change them and what happens when results drift.
Definition
Typical tiers are recommend, ask first, and act within limits. Some vendors set them per workflow, others per action class or per risk score.
Ask whether tiers can be lowered automatically when accuracy drifts, and whether a change of tier is logged with the name of whoever made it.
