Rollback
Rollback undoes an action that was wrong: release an isolated host, re-enable an account, restore a message. It is different from rolling back a playbook to an earlier version. Vendor pages that mention rollback often mean the second, so check which.
Definition
Action rollback needs the platform to record what it changed and the state before. Without that record, an analyst undoes the action by hand, which takes time during an incident.
When you read a page, find whether rollback is for actions, for workflows or for neither. Most pages read for this site state neither.
Rollback in Cyware's documentation
Cyware's Orchestrate page lists playbook version control and rollback of workflows to previous versions, which covers the workflow and not an action already executed against a host or an account. vendor claim cyware.com, read
The example names a vendor and its own page. A vendor's use of Rollback may differ from the definition above; the rubric uses the definition on this page.
